About Dr. Harker
Dr. Shelly Harker is a Florida State University Alumnus where she received her Bachelors degree in Psychology, with a primary emphasis in Child and Family services. She pursued her graduate education at the Georgia School of Professional Psychology in Atlanta, Georgia where she received both her Masters of Arts and Doctorate of Psychology (Psy.D.) degrees in Clinical Psychology. While completing her clinical training, Dr. Harker worked in several outpatient clinics including May South and Southern Behavioral Group and worked in the following clinics at the Marcus Autism Center: Fetal Alcohol and Drug Exposure, Language and Learning, Severe Behavior Disorders and Pediatric Psychology and Feeding Disorders. During this time, she provided psychological and functional behavior assessments and developed and implemented individualized behavioral interventions. She also conducted ongoing parent and teacher training for skill acquisition and to address mild to severe behavioral and emotional problems in children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism and other developmental disabilities. Additionally, Dr. Harker assisted with published research activities through these affiliations and pursued teaching opportunities through the Georgia School of Professional Psychology. Finally, Dr. Harker continued her Post-Doctoral Fellowship through Emory University School of Medicine with the Pediatric Psychology and Feeding Disorders Clinic, specializing in behavioral psychology and feeding disorders related to comorbid medical conditions, developmental disabilities and behavioral problems. Dr. Harker is a licensed psychologist and an active member of the Georgia Psychological Association and the American Psychological Association.
